The Alde Garde Chronicles nr 10 - 2019 and 2020
February 8th, 2020: Warcon Ghent nr 31; presented by the Gamers'Guild and the Red Barons.
For us, Warcon in Ghent is always the first wargames con in the year and we like to go there. The 2020 show wasn't different to last year although as we understand more clubs (a seperate corner was reserved for board games which in our opinion is a good idea) and traders.
The game itself is mostly just an excuse to chat to people, exchange ideas etc although we managed to finish more turns then at Crisis.
A small amount of pictures of our demo are presented underneath.
December 14th 2019:WW2 Wargaming at he Military Museum at Overloon

Very unusual is to have wargames in a museum, but a military War museum is even better. Almost becoming a a tradition (well, they are in their third year) a dozen WW2 wargames were played during the day and the tabels were placed through the museum.
We only visited as we don't have WW2 stuff (yet?) so some pictures of games and surroundings underneath.

November 4th 2019: The first Saturday in November: "Crisis day" which is always a very good job by the organising club:  the Tin Soldiers of Antwerp. And of course we always try to be there with a demo.
Sometimes a "recycled" demo, sometimes a new game but the Alde Garde is always present at the Crisis show.
This year we had new terrain representing the siege of Maestricht in 1748 or the last year of the War of the Austrian Succession. The French as besiegers and Dutch, British and German troops to man the fortress and try to break through the French army to provision the fortress. That was the scenario.
Oh, and the demo was in 15mm which some (even clubmembers of the TSoA) said was a pity as the figures were too small ! To give an impression of the game  underneath some pictures.

As the Alde Garde consists just of two members, the time to wander around the show is short and we can only take a few pictures so a wellment xcuse for all the clubs we haven't taken pictures of.
Hope to see you next year at Crisis.

September 11th 2019 Figz at Arnhem

Figz is a small but very friendly show, more a gathering of friends then a wargames show as they also have modelling, painting demonstrations, making maquette etc.
We were there with a small table with an early renaissance wargames demo.
Some pictures underneath of which the first 8 are about our demo; the other of the show.

February 9th, 2019: Warcon Ghent; presented by the Gamers'Guild and the Red Barons.
2019 was a great show again; it seems it becomes busier and more wargames and traders find their way to Ghen which is a good thing. Hopefully it will keep its friendly atmosphere and doesn't grow too much. Just our opninion of course.
We had a good time and of course will be there in 2019.
We had a 28mm French Revolution demo with us which differed of course from the previous year. Again using "Over the hills" it was in our opinion a nice demo.
A small amount of pictures of our demo are presented underneath.
