The Alde Garde Chronicles nr 7 - 2016

November 5th: Crisis day again.
Organised by the Tin Soldiers of Antwerp is was a great, bur smelly, day

As every year (well at leat the 15th time, the Alde Garde presented a demo at this great show.
This time we took our early Renaissance V2(1507 period) with us. Of course additions to the amount of figures and some different terrain pieces (a part of a town was newly made).
We had very little time to visit other presentations although we saw some great demo's and participation games but sadly could only made very litel pictures.
Some plus some photos of our demo are underneath.
Hope to see you the next year.
September 24th 2016, Open day of the Nederlandse Stichting voor Modelfiguren (NSM) and the Dutch Army Cavalry museum, both at the same time at the Bernhard Barracks in Amersfoort, Netherlands.
As for us it was a busy day explaining to many people what wargaming was, how it is played, how the terrain and figures are mades and all other stuff that makes wargaming a great hobby, we had't time to participate in other things that were going around or visiting the real tanks which were driven around with visitors. As members of the NSM presenting their figures, sold books and figures, modeltanks in various scales were presented and driving around our feet.
A short visit to the cavalrymuseum ended this day-we had only forgotten our camera so only two pictures of the museum were taken with a mobile. So we have to visit this event next year I suppose. Some pictures underneath (the last two from the museum).

June 5th 2016 FIGZ, Arnhem, Netherlands
A nice little show for small scale soldiers, so it is a combination of wargaming and modelling. Wargaming can be in every scale and various periods were shown although WW2 was prominent. Modelling and diorama's are mostly in the 20mm range and there were some great ones shown. Also demo about making trees, converting 20mm plastic figures were given. We always like going there.
Some pictures underneath.
April 16th, 2016 Salute day at London Excel
As every year we try to go to Salute although it is a lot of road to travel from the South-Eastern part of the Netherlands where the Alde Garde is residing  to London. The traffic jam in London didn't help either but we managed to drive the 1000 km (500km's in the morning, and then back in the evening) reasonably smooth. We thought Calais would be the bottleneck but in fact, there were no problems at all.
Glad to speak to old friends again, see splendid demos, bought some figures but not very much.  As historical gamers we noticed the vast (and in our humble opinion, fast growing) amount of phantasy traders and games. Another change we saw was that some traders are growing and growing (and growing) space each year.
A lot of pictures are already shown on the web (see eg TMP) so just some of us underneath:
April 3rd, 2016 Impact Eindhoven
Organised by the Hired Guns clubs of Uden, Netherlands. This club also changed it's venue to Eindhoven and in our humble opninion this was a succes. So thanks to all organisers and see you next year.

2016 - March 12th: WarCon Ghent, Belgium and it's 28th Edition. Organised by the combined efforts of Thunderbolts and Red Barosn Wargames clubs.
Not anymore held in Gentbrugge but now in a new venue in Merelbeke/Gent. A great day by all and certainly a place with potential. More advertisements beforehand would be welcome next year so that even more wargames and others will find this show.
We presented a 1690 BLB demo in 28mm. We hope to be there in 2017 again.
